Background information:
The Twelve Days of Christmas cover the time between Christmas Day and Epiphany on January 6. This time provides an opportunity to create sacred traditions extending the holiness of the season and to stretch the concept of gift giving to the giving of non-material gifts during the Twelve Days of Christmas (GIFTS = God Isn’t Found in ThingS). Ideas include a poem, a song, a drawing or another type of artwork, a hug, an affirmation, a prayer, a “thank you,” an “I’m sorry,” a promise, an offer to help or something else.
The Blessing
Welcome to this Christmas season, a time for celebrating the gift of Jesus.
“Giver of all good GIFTS, fill our hearts with gratitude and joy.“ Amen
